Working Cattle

Today was a busy day for us.  We were up early and down at the pastures at first light getting in the cow and calves.  We have worked our calves in the pasture the last 2 years and it seems to work pretty well.  We were only 4 today, Janae is gone Shingling,  and Jody is down in Lincoln NE with Tabby for the last week.  We worked fast,  we sordid and worked about 62 head in 4 hours.  We were blessed with safety even thought we have a few browses from getting kicked all went well.

A Beautiful day

The last few days it felt like Fall was here and here to stay.
But today was so beautiful out, couldn't help but take a few picture.

Prayer

I've learned in all the things going on around me that I need to breath deeply. Prayer is the breath of the soul. " The fervent prayer of His people will be answeared, for He loves to have His people seek Him with all their heart and depend upon Him as their deliverer." LDE I have been reminder laitly of the importance of our prayers. Just last night in our family devotional we read the verse " Have faith in God.... Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:22-24. So My thought to you today is to try to be in constant connection to God

Vacation!

Sorry that it has been a while since we have blogged but we’ve been gone for a few days. Tuesday (August 31st ) we left home at 9:30am and drove to Anoka Minnesota where we were able to spend some time with our uncle Danny and aunt Joyce. Tuesday evening we went to my cousin Mandy's house and had fun with herfamily.

Wednesday we went to the Minnesota state fair and spent the day walking around and looking at things. There were sooooo many people everywhere! Then on Wednesday evening we went to the Fair’s high school rodeo and it was really good.

Thursday we woke up early and we toured a plastic factory, then in the afternoon we headed to down town Minneapolis and went to the mall of America for a little while. From there we went down to the old spaghetti factory and had supper. After supper we just headed up the street to the Metrdome were we where able to watch the Minnesota Vikings play the Denver Broncos in their second preseason game! The score was (Vikings 31 Broncos 24.) From the game we drove ‘til about 1:00am and then spent the night in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Friday morning we got up early and drove to Clarion, Iowa where we toured the Hagie factory, (for those of you how don't know what Hagie is, it's the company that made our big self propelled sprayer) the people were so nice and we had a great time! From Clarion we drove a good part of the day till we got to Kansas City, Missouri. All of mom's family was in Kansas City for Seth's wedding so we had a nice Friday night with them.

Saturday we went to church and then all our family got together and had dinner in the park. On Saturday evening Seth's bride, Joana, invited all Seth’s family to there house and her dad made us a yummy Mexican supper.

Sunday morning Brooki (my cousin) Tabby, Mindy, Janae, Paul, and myself went swimming in a very cold outdoor pool! Then at 4:00pm we went to Seth and Joana’s wedding. They had a beautiful wedding and a nice reception. We wish you the best Seth and Joana. When we left the wedding we drove ‘til 3:30am and reached my cousin Michele's house near Kimble, South Dakota.

We had a short night but on Monday morning we got to help Gunner celebrate his first Birthday! After the Birthday party we drove the rest of the way home.

Thank you to all those who gave us a place to stay and provided us with a good time! God blessed us with safe travels and protection and a wonderful time.
