Pasture picnic

One of our favorite things to do on a Saturday night is to have some friends down and have a pasture picnic.  Last night we had one of our church members down.  Paul had a lot of fun with Josh and it was nice to get to know Jimmy's parents a little better since they are visiting.

The cows are so friendly they come right up to your blanket and are wanting to see what you're doing.

We packed a picnic lunch so we could have our supper in the pasture.

In this picture I ( Mindy ) fed this cow a cookie when she came up to me.  You can see how much she enjoyed it.  She's like trying to spit it out.  We had a good laugh.

August 24th and 25th

Yesterday Dad and Paul were working on getting the last of our wheat combined so we went out to the field for an afternoon picnic of hot dogs, corn on the cob, and cucumbers!!!!! yum :)  Tabby and Janae were in Fargo for Tabby's wrist appointment so they missed out. :(

 I love cucumber don't you!

God is always very near to us all we need to do is trust Him by reaching out and Raleigh on His strength.

This afternoon we took down our pool and we got mighty wet doing it so we blew up a few water balloons and had is nice little water fight.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children,

8-21-11

Yesterday we put up 225 cobs of corn and 14 barrel jars of pickles.  Today Mom is working on some beets too.  The Garden is in full swing producing now.  It's so much fun!  We are working on wheat harvest too.  We combined around 60 acres yesterday.  It doesn't work to go until about 1:00 always so when it does we get as much done as possible.
Here are a few pictures of putting up some corn

Crop duster

This morning we had a crop duster come in and spray our soybeans for aphids.  He got really low, on some of the pictures you can see how his wheels were only like 3 feet above the soybeans.

Farmer's market

This morning we got up early and picked some sweet corn to take to the farmer's market in Ashley.  We picked around 15 dozen cobs.  Mom sent some garden stuff with us too.  And so us 5 kids went over to Ashley for a few hours and got everything sold except a head of cabbage, and like 12 cobs of corn.
